Visit to Northern Ireland
I was delighted to visit Northern Ireland at the start of December - this was an excellent opportunity to discuss how we can collaborate further to boost the financial and professional services sector across the United Kingdom.
I spoke with the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane, Cllr. Lilian Seenoi Barr, where we discussed the strong relationship the City of London and Northern Ireland enjoy and how we can boost the financial and professional services sector across the UK, building on Northern Ireland’s flourishing RegTech cluster.
I also met with the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Micky Murray, to discuss key issues including homelessness, attracting investment into Northern Ireland, and building stronger relationships between Belfast and the City of London.
A fascinating trip, and I look forward to returning in the near future.
